Howdy.
Hope you all had a magic Xmas back home and that Santa was good to you all.
Christmas day was fabulous over here.
The 4 of us started the big day with a BBQ and Bucks fizz (the drink - not the 80s pop group ) on the patio of our Apartment before heading into Queenstown for a fabulous meal late at night. I think we were all happily sozzled by the end of the evening.
Boxing Day was also spent in Queenstown with another trip up the gondola and a go on the luge..I am pleased to say that I managed to extract some revenge on Aoifa, winning 3 out of the 4 races before crashing specatacularly in the final race of the day and taking half the skin of my left leg in the process...Ouch. That will teach me for getting cocky.
I have to say that so far Queenstown has been the high point of my trip...it really does have something for everyone and is located in the most spectacular setting with crystal clear lakes or imposing Mountain ranges wherever you look.
On Saturday we were back on the road and haeded North taking in Wanaka where we stopped to have a stroll down the lake and to pay a visit to "the Amazing World" theme park where Aoif and I managed to get totally lost in the maze. We spent a quiet Saturday night in Haast before rising early and continuing up North to Greymouth where we are staying in a beautiful motor park overlooking the beach. As I type it is now half 8 and the sun is still out in force.
On the way tio Greymouth we stiopped at Franz Joseph and Fox Galciers to take in the amazing glaciers which dominate the 2 towns.
Anyway another Barbie and cold beer are calling me..Ta Ta for now.
